An international auto show has opened in Guangzhou (China). One of the highlights of the Great Wall Motor booth was the Mecha Dragon sports sedan under the new Salon brand, under which GWM plans to produce electric vehicles with "smart" systems.
Mecha Dragon is a purely electric car, the car is equipped with two motors (one per axle) and an all-wheel drive system, the total power is 405 kW (551 hp), the maximum torque is 750 Nm. The engines are powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 115 kWh, the power reserve on a single charge reaches as much as 802 km. The system supports recharging from a station with a capacity of up to 480 kW, so the energy reserve sufficient for a run of 401 km can be replenished in just 10 minutes.
The exterior of the Mecha Dragon is made deliberately rough, with an abundance of sharp edges. Inside, there are special anatomical front seats and a huge horizontal display of the media system.
The sedan is equipped with an advanced autopilot system with Huawei lidar, ultra-high definition cameras, 4 all-round cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and a high-precision positioning unit, including 38 smart sensors. Mecha Dragon also has Michelin sport tires, Brembo four-piston calipers, etc.
The body is made using frame-panel technology - the supporting structure is welded from steel pipes, the outer panels are molded from composites.
Interestingly, only 101 copies of the sedan are planned to be produced. Prices will range from 400,000 to 800,000 yuan.
