General Motors introduced an upgraded version of the GMC Sierra 1500 full-size frame pickup truck. The car was updated following the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 platform, which was shown in a restyled form in September. Sierra 1500 refreshed inside and out, and in its equipment appeared semi-autopilot Super Cruise. In addition, two new configurations have been added - the deluxe Denali Ultimate and the off-road-ready AT4X.
Outside, the pickup truck received a new design of the front part - the width of the radiator grille was increased, the block headlights were made more complex in configuration, the "outgrowths" of the daytime running lights became longer, and the other - the bumper plastic. The design of the rims has been changed, three new body colors have been added - Titanium Rush Metallic (a shade of gray), Dynamic Blue Metallic (a shade of blue) and Desert Sand Metallic (sand).
Inside, there is a completely new front panel with a horizontal architecture (unified with the 2022 model year GMC Yukon platform SUV), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a media system display enlarged to 13.4 inches.
The advanced semi-autopilot Enhanced Super Cruise can automatically change lanes and supports trailer towing driving mode.
The deluxe version of Denali Ultimate is offered for the Sierra 1500 in a variant with a 6.2-liter V8 petrol (420 hp) and a 10-speed “automatic”. The car in this version is distinguished by leather, wood and Alcantara interior trim, has an electric drive and a built-in front seat massager, as well as a Bose audio system with 12 speakers and a 15-inch head-up display.
Key design features of the AT4X extreme off-road variant are a suspension lift (+50mm front and +25mm rear) and Multimatic DSSV shock absorbers that simultaneously improve pavement handling and off-road flotation. The AT4X is also only offered with a 420 hp 6.2-liter V8. The equipment of this version also includes electronic locking of the front and rear differentials. The Sierra AT4X has 18-inch wheels with off-road tires.
In terms of power units, only the 2.7-liter gasoline turbo engine has been improved - the design of its cylinder block and crankshaft has been strengthened, and the torque has been increased (up to 570 Nm). Of the "aspirated", in addition to the above-mentioned 6.2-liter V8, a 5.3-liter engine (360 hp) remained in the range. A 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbodiesel (281 hp) will also continue to be offered. All engines are combined only with a 10-speed "automatic".
Sales of the updated GMC Sierra 1500 in the US will start in early 2022. The price in the local market is from $ 32,500 for the simplest rear-wheel drive option.
