At the end of February, several thousand brand new Bronco frame SUVs accumulated at the finished product site of the Ford Motor car plant in Michigan (USA) in the open air at the end of February - these are understaffed cars that cannot be assembled at 100% due to a disruption in the supply of electronic components. Most of the cars are built on pre-orders and pre-paid customer orders collected over a year ago, Autoblog.com reported.
In the pictures and videos, you can see that Broncos are not covered by anything, and therefore are sprinkled with a considerable amount of snow, that is, the negative impact of moisture is on the bodies even before the cars get to the buyers and start driving on the roads. Electronic components by Ford subcontractors were not delivered on time due to the global shortage of microchips, which has been going on since the beginning of 2021 (the entire global auto industry suffers fr om it). Initially, the shortage of semiconductors was provoked by a sharp increase in demand for them due to the rapid recovery of the global economy after the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, but now the shortage continues due to local outbreaks of infection with this respiratory infection in Southeast Asia, wh ere the lion's share of chip production is concentrated.
Bronco buyers interviewed by Automotive News say some of them have already pushed back the shipping date of prepaid cars several times.
Ford claims that within 90 days, as the missing parts arrive, they will collect all the cars that have accumulated in the parking lot and hand them over to buyers.
Note that the latest generation Bronco U725 caused a stir in the North American market long before the start of production in June 2021. Expressive retro design, solid construction, proven units, a wide range of modifications, the possibility of personalizing the car and, of course, a large-scale advertising campaign - these are the reasons why this model has become a bestseller.
Bronco U725 is produced in two- and four-door bodies, with soft or hard top. The car is based on the platform of the Ranger T6 mid-size pickup truck, the range of engines includes gasoline engines with a volume of 2.4 liters (turbo), 2.7 liters (biturbo) and 3.0 liters (biturbo). Power is 300, 330 and 400 hp. respectively. Gearbox - 7-speed manual gearbox (only for the 2.3-liter version) or 10-speed automatic transmission (for all engines). The drive is complete.
In the US, the queues of buyers for this model reach one year.
