Ferrari introduced the first crossover in its history

Ferrari

The Italian manufacturer of supercars Ferrari NV on the evening of September 13 presented the first crossover in its history. The novelty is called Purosangue (read as "Purosang") and belongs to the category of full-size.

The overall length, width and height of the fundamentally new Ferrari are 4973, 2028 and 1589 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 3018 mm. The crossover is built on a modified version of the Roma front-engined coupe platform (Type F169), which has been produced since 2020.

Although the class of crossovers for the Italian company is unusual, according to the proportions of the body and the style of the exterior, the Purosangue is identified as a pure Ferrari. It has a long hood, massive sidewalls, large air intakes and outlets, as well as a cabin shifted to the rear axle. In terms of plastic body panels, the novelty has something in common with modern Ferrari supercars.

The body is five-door, but the rear doors do not open in the usual way, but against the move. Moreover, they do not have handles on the outside, but from the inside they are closed by pressing a button.

The car is driven by a 6.5-liter V12 petrol united with a robotic dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive. The layout of the units according to the transaxle scheme, that is, the gearbox, clutch and final drive are assembled in a single housing and installed on the rear axle, and not end-to-end with the engine. This made it possible to achieve a weight distribution close to the ideal - 49/51.

Motor power - 724 hp, torque - 716 Nm. In terms of dynamic performance, Purosangue surpasses all modern crossovers - it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.3 seconds, from 0 to 200 km / h in 10.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 312 km/h.

The cabin has four seats with individual sports seats for each passenger. Trunk volume is 473 liters, the rear seats can be folded - using the electric drive.

The curb weight of the crossover is 2173 kg, to reduce the center of gravity, the roof is molded from carbon fiber. The basic equipment includes active FAST, which suppresses rolls - and thereby increases the stability of the car on the roads. The Purosangue has 22-inch front wheels and 23-inch rear wheels.

Sales of new items will start at the end of this year - the beginning of next year. In Western markets, its cost will be about $400,000. The assembly of cars will be carried out according to individual orders, of course, at the Ferrari plant in Maranello.

By the way, Purosangue is translated from Italian as “purebred”.
