The Japanese company Autobacs Seven has converted a Daihatsu Hijet Cargo Cruise Turbo kei-van into a camper. It was presented under the brand name Gordon Miller, the machine index is GMLVAN S-01.
In the interior of the van, the sides and the ceiling of the cargo compartment were trimmed with acacia wood. Four dimmable LED lights were built into the ceiling. Two folding tables with a dimension of 54 x 35 cm each were mounted on the sides, they are also made of wood and have a load capacity of up to 10 kg. Blackout curtains were hung over the windows. The floor was covered with a special soft waterproof polymer material with a wood grain texture. The seats are finished with Cordura fabric, which is particularly wear-resistant and durable, and also has dirt-repellent properties.
Outside, the autocamper from Autobacs Seven can be recognized by the original design of the front - the standard Hijet headlights have been replaced with practical universal round ones with separate sidelights. Also made their own front bumper and front lining. An expeditionary trunk is mounted on the roof. Used the original rear bumper with round lamps and 12-inch alloy wheels.
There are no changes in terms of technology. Recall that the Hijet Cargo Cruise Turbo is equipped with the maximum allowable 660 cc gasoline engine for key cars, it is equipped with a turbocharger and develops 64 hp. power. The length and width are also predetermined by the limits for the dimensions of key cars - 3395 and 1475 mm, respectively.
In Japan, sales of the Gordon Miller GMLVAN S-01 car camper will start in February 2023, the rear-wheel drive version will cost from 3.19 million yen, the all-wheel drive modification from 3.388 million yen.
