GM releases new electric Chevrolet for China

Chevrolet

In China, a presentation of the Chevrolet Menlo electric car was held. Despite the fact that General Motors has been producing electric models for the Celestial Empire for several years, this is the first such car from Chevrolet: before, electric trains were sold under the Buick brand.

Menlo is touted as a mid-size crossover, although it could just as well be called a hatchback with increased ground clearance. Body length is 4665 mm, width - 1818 mm, height - 1538 mm. The wheelbase is 2660 mm.

The car used an electric motor with a capacity of 150 hp. and a torque of 350 Nm, it is powered by a battery with a capacity of 52.5 kWh. A range of 410 km is claimed, but since it is measured in the outdated NEDC test cycle, in reality it will be possible to count on a more modest range.

Chevrolet has installed a new generation of MyLink+ entertainment system in Menlo. Supports voice commands and remote access from a smartphone.

Sales of the electric vehicle will begin in the first half of 2020. Chevrolet Menlo will be produced at the SAIC-GM joint venture. Prices have not yet been announced.
