Chinese Changan Auto on August 30 in the evening introduced a new model - a mid-size Lantop frame pickup truck.
Lantop is based on the Kaicene F70 produced since 2019, but differs from it with completely new plumage, interior and engine. Lantop in the product hierarchy of the brand took a position one step above the F70.
The front of the novelty is framed in the latest iteration of the Changan corporate identity - there is a huge radiator grille with a massive U-shaped chrome edging, a raised hood and two-tier headlights with a combination of horizontal and vertical elements. Between the headlights there is a horizontal LED strip DRL.
In terms of cab, frame and cargo compartment, Lantop is unified with the F70. Of the steel stamped parts, the hood is new.
The suspensions have been changed relative to the “donor” - the front one remained independent spring, but at the rear, instead of the dependent one with a solid axle and leaf springs, a new independent type design with five levers per wheel was used.
The overall length, width and height of Lantop are 5600, 1930 and 1875 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 3430 mm. The internal dimensions of the cargo compartment - l / w / h - 1850/1595/500 mm.
Under the hood of the Changan Lantop is a 2.0-liter Blue Whale gasoline turbo engine with 233 hp. and a torque of 390 Nm. The gearbox is automatic, the drive is rear or full.
The interior has not yet been declassified, but it promises a level of comfort and premium passenger car finishes.
In addition to the standard version, the Changan Lantop will have a heavy off-road prepared with the Pro prefix in the title.
