Chinese Changan Automobile plans to enter the markets of the European Union and the United States. In addition, plans are to build two or three car factories outside of China by 2025. This was stated by Chairman of the Board of Changan Zhu Huarong at the last conference of the company's dealers.
Changan Automobile was founded in 1996. It is the fourth largest automaker controlled by the Chinese government. The Chinese government owns a 38.79% stake in Changan Automobile. At the end of 2021, the company produced 1.9 million cars, in January-March 2022 it sold 651,500 cars (+1.63% compared to the same period last year).
Currently, Changan cars are only exported to some developing countries.
At the end of March, Changan introduced a new electric car - a compact liftback C385. This car will compete with the American Tesla Model 3.
