UK fuel crisis hits Cristiano Ronaldo's fleet

Manchester United and Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo was indirectly affected by the fuel crisis in the UK: the football star's luxury cars arrived at one of the Wilmslow Shell gas stations, but could not replenish their tanks with fuel. This is reported by the Daily Mail.

It is alleged that a Bentley Flying Spur sedan and a Land Rover Range Rover SUV with their drivers stood for almost seven hours in the pouring rain at a gas station in Wilmslow, Cheshire, but did not wait for the fuel tank. The drivers at that time drank coffee, ate sandwiches, but remained out of work. “Even with all his money, Ronaldo ended up in the same boat as the rest of us. Its drivers waited for several hours for a fuel tanker to arrive, but they never did, ”one of the Britons, who was waiting for fuel in the same line, shared his thoughts.

The UK fuel crisis arose on 27 September. The reason was the lack of truck drivers due to the exit of the country from the European Union and the large number of canceled work visas. The situation is complicated by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, which hinders the training of new personnel.

Rumors about a possible shortage of fuel at gas stations exacerbated the situation - they caused panic among ordinary motorists and led to the formation of long queues at gas stations.

According to the British Association of Petrol Stations, the country is currently short of about 100,000 heavy truck drivers.
