British Bentley has stopped production of its flagship, the Mulsanne executive sedan. The car has been assembled for 10 years, since 2010. Along with the Mulsanne, the famous 6.75-liter V8 that it was equipped with will become part of the history. Bentley has been making it with upgrades since 1959.

In honor of the completion of the release, the court atelier Mulliner developed a special version of the 6.75 Edition. A total of 30 Mulsanne 6.75 Editions were produced. The photographs show the penultimate of them: the sedan, made in a combination of golden and gray colors, will go to a customer from the USA. For now, Bentley is keeping details about the latest one under wraps.

For 10 years, a total of about 7300 cars were assembled. Notably, the Mulsanne has no heir. In the coming years, the flagship of the brand will be Flying Spur, which is one step lower in the product hierarchy. At the same time, it is highly likely that the British company will not develop a new sedan: instead, it may prefer a crossover.

As for the 6.75-liter V8 produced in 61, it was first used on the 1959 Bentley S2 limousine, its power was 180 hp. Of course, over the past six decades since then, the unit has been repeatedly refined. In its latest iteration, it develops up to 530 hp. and 1100 Nm at Mulsanne Speed.

For more than half a century, about 36,000 L-series engines have been produced. Each of them was assembled by hand: this procedure took 15 hours.
