The third-generation Bentley Continental GT coupe has been in production since 2018. In the fourth year of life, the British manufacturer introduced the top version of the Speed. It is traditional not only for the Continental GT family, but also for the brand as a whole: for the first time, the modification appeared in the 1920s to designate powerful three-liter cars. And the new Continental GT Speed has become the fastest road car in the brand's 101-year history.
The coupe uses a 6.0-liter W12 with two turbochargers. Relative to the basic version, its power was increased from 635 to 659 hp, while the torque remained the same - 900 Nm. The powerful engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The drive is complete.
The Continental GT Speed is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 335 km/h. Fun fact: while Bentley calls it the fastest production car in its history, the 710-horsepower version of the 2017 Continental Supersports still beats it, if only by 0.1 seconds and 1 km/h.
Among the unique features of the Speed version is a fully steerable chassis: the rear wheels turn in time with the front wheels at high speeds and in the opposite direction at low speeds. And then there was an electronic locking rear differential eLSD.
The coupe has carbon-ceramic brakes with ten-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers in the rear. 22 inch wheels are used. And the suspension has also been reconfigured, plus the switching time of the “robot” has been reduced.
There are no clear visual differences. There was a darkened grille, side skirts and thin chrome badges on the front fenders.
