Audi is preparing to supplement its product range with a fundamentally new model - a large crossover Q6. In the public domain were the first photos of the upcoming news without any disguise.
Q6 is created specifically for the Chinese market, it will be produced at the facilities of the SAIC-Audi joint venture located here. That is why the pictures leaked through the database of the Ministry of Industry of China.
The length, width and height of the Audi Q6 are 5099, 2014 and 1784 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2980 mm. That is, in size, this car is larger than the Q7 model, the current largest SUV of the German brand.
The new Audi crossover is based on the same modification of the Volkswagen MQB platform that is used for the Volkswagen Teramont/Atlas crossover.
The exterior of the Audi Q6 was inspired by the Qilin, a mythical creature known in Chinese and other East Asian cultures, according to Autohome. In particular, the volumetric punchings above the wheel arches of the crossover that visually expand the body are a reference to the massive hips and shoulder blades of the Qilin.
Also among the features of the “Kyu-six” are two-tier headlights (low and high beam units are in the bumper), a massive radiator grille with a three-dimensional chrome-plated pattern, brushed aluminum decorative inserts on the body panels.
The car will be equipped with a 2.0-liter Volkswagen EA888 petrol turbo engine with a capacity of 265 hp. and a torque of 400 Nm. Moreover, the engine will be delivered to China from the Audi Hungaria plant located in Hungary. The drive of the Q6 is full, the maximum speed is 207 km / h, the curb weight of the crossover is 2205 kg, the total weight is 2765 kg.
