A video has been published on the Web from the showroom of an Audi dealership in the German city of Leverkusen, which was badly damaged by flooding. The water that penetrated inside the building carried cars and pushed them against each other, some cars even “climbed” onto others.
The Q3, Q5 and Q8 crossovers, the e-tron GT, e-tron and e-tron Sportback electric cars, as well as several RS models, including the RS Q3 Sportback and RS6 Avant, were damaged. Obviously, the cars will not be restored and sent for recycling.
Downpours have been pouring across western and southwestern Germany since Monday, causing devastating flooding. Because of the rains, the tributaries of the Rhine Ahr and Mosel, as well as the small rivers Sauer, Prüm, Nims, Kiel and Erft, burst their banks. Some cities were blocked. The elements in Germany claimed the lives of more than 150 people.
