Audi has released a new modification of the A7 model - a long-wheelbase sedan. Recall that until now the “seven” was offered only in the form of a five-door Sportback liftback. The new version is called A7L, it was created specifically for China, where it will be released. In the Celestial Empire, elongated bodies of European models are in great demand; Audi already has a whole line of such cars for the Chinese, starting with the A3L Sedan.
Relative to the original Sportback, the A7L has a different roof shape, increased rear doors and, of course, a well-defined third volume of the body with a trunk lid - everything is like in ordinary sedans.
The “Seven” was stretched to 5076 mm (the length of the Sportback is 4969 mm, that is, an increase of 107 mm). The wheelbase has reached 3026 mm (+100 mm relative to the liftback). As a result, the A7L outpaced the A8 executive model in the standard version in terms of distance between the axles, but at the same time fell short in the overall length of the body.
At the start of sales in China, the novelty will only be available in the 55 TFSI quattro First Edition with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 producing 340 hp. and 500 Nm. Such a car is a "mild" hybrid: it is equipped with a 48-volt starter-generator. In the "base" - a seven-speed "robot" S tronic and permanent all-wheel drive.
A little later, simpler versions will also enter the market, including those with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine.
The A7L will be produced by the SAIC-VW joint venture. Previously, all Audi in China produced the FAW-VW joint venture, including other longs: A4L, A6L, Q2L, Q5L and Q5L Sportback. Prices not published.
