Honda Motor has released yet another teaser photo of the revived Acura Integra. It shows the back of the body. The picture makes it clear that this will be a five-door liftback.
Honda announced its intention to bring the Integra name back to its range in August. Later, photos of the Honda Integra appeared in the database of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, but this is a different car - a sedan for the domestic Chinese market.
“Like the original Integra that helped launch the Acura brand in 1986, the fifth-generation Integra will be a premium sports car with a striking five-door body style,” the brand said in a statement.
The target market for the new Acura Integra will be North America. It is expected that the car will be built on the platform of the current eleventh generation Civic (like the Honda Integra for China). Under the hood, a turbocharged “four” L15B7 with a volume of 1.5 liters and a capacity of 208 hp may appear.
The revived Acura Integra will enter the market in the spring of 2022.
Recall that the original model Acura Integra was produced in the United States from 1985 to 2006. During this time, she changed four generations, was produced in coupe, three-door hatchback and sedan. Integras were popular due to their low price and powerful, albeit compact, naturally aspirated engines of the B16 (1.6 l), B18 (1.8 l) and K20 (2.0 l) series. The latter in the most forced version developed 220 hp.
