Honda showed an electric crossover, which will be produced jointly with GM

Honda Motor has unveiled the Acura Precision EV concept crossover, which anticipates the future production Acura, created on a joint electric vehicle platform with General Motors.

The exterior of the concept car is made in the new corporate style of the premium Honda brand, the car is characterized by a clearly defined two-volume profile with a long horizontal nose, a wedge-shaped front end, a negative front slope, sharp edges and complex transitions of body panels.

There is no traditional grille at the front between the headlights - the electric car does not need a large radiator, which is equipped with internal combustion engines, so in this place the Precision EV has diamond-shaped moldings diverging from the emblem. When the headlights are turned off, the LED lamps installed behind the “diamonds” light up, they give the car an unusual look from the front. The wheels of the crossover are 23-inch.

Acura says the Precision EV should evoke the feeling of a speedboat piercing the waves of the sea. The deep blue painted underside emphasizes these associations.

Inside, there is a steering wheel instead of the traditional steering wheel, as well as curved displays of a digital instrument panel and a media system. In autopilot mode, the steering wheel folds into the front panel, and relaxing animations, such as sea waves, begin to be broadcast to passengers through the displays.

Interior trim panels are made from renewable resources and recycled materials, which is confirmed by a certificate from the international non-profit organization Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

There is not a word about the technical characteristics of the electric car in the Acura press release.

A production Acura electric crossover with a design based on the Precision EV will appear in 2024, it will be based on the GM Ultium platform. The car will enter the market under the ZDX index, which was previously used for a gasoline coupe-crossover produced in 2009-2013.

Note that the name Precision used for the concept car is also from the past - in 2016, an experimental sports sedan was presented under it.
