Mid-engined Acura Integra with 8.2-liter engine is being sold in the USA

A very extravagant project was put up on one of the American trading floors - the Acura Integra coupe, which was structurally changed beyond recognition.

When viewed from the outside, the car can be mistaken for a model of exuberant tuning with a wide aerodynamic body kit, but in fact, very little remains of the legendary front-wheel drive car, once the best in its class.

At the rear, the Integra has an 8.2-liter "big block" carburetor from a front-wheel drive (!) Cadillac Eldorado of the early 1970s and a three-speed automatic transmission. The 400-horsepower engine was supplemented with two massive turbochargers, how much power was eventually obtained is prudently not specified.

A very successful Integra independent double-wishbone suspension was replaced with a transmission combined into one body with a bridge, also from Eldorado. All this rests on the front subframe from the same Cadillac.

American journalists called the seller of the car and he honestly admitted that it was very problematic to drive it - to a large extent it is a show car. “We got it up to 40 miles per hour (64 km/h) and personally I didn’t have the courage to accelerate further. The car is funny, but I wouldn’t drive it down the street, when the bypass valve of the turbines is triggered, you can go deaf, ”said the seller.

It is noteworthy that the driver of the car really does not separate anything from the huge motor right behind him. The owner of Acura noted that with the installation of a motor shield and refinement of the suspension, the car can be driven without fear.

The price of the car is $27,995
