Acura RDX third generation received a 2.0-liter turbo engine

The third-generation Acura RDX crossover was unveiled at the New York Auto Show. The car almost literally reproduces the appearance of the prototype shown in Detroit. The manufacturer claims that the new RDX is the largest redesign of the model in the last 10 years of the brand.

The third generation RDX is built on a new platform that, among other advantages, features a 4.6 cm longer wheelbase. Instead of a naturally aspirated V6, there is now only a 2.0-liter turbo engine that develops 272 hp. power and 380 Nm of torque. A 10-speed “automatic” and a proprietary SH-AWD system work together with it, which is able to distribute torque between the rear wheels and transfer up to 70% of traction to the rear axle.

At the rear, the RDX has a five-link independent suspension, and the front has a MacPherson strut. There are adaptive dampers and variable ratio power steering.

The interior was trimmed with leather and other high-quality materials. The RDX has traditional analog gauges in the dash and a 10.2-inch screen in the center console. The car will also be equipped with a panoramic roof (already in the "base"), a 16-channel audio system with a capacity of 710 watts, an active safety complex with accident prevention systems, and much more.

In the US, the third-generation Acura RDX will begin selling this coming summer. Prices have not yet been published.
