The target market for the new Mazda will be the European Union - here the car will be offered in a five-door body and with a hybrid power plant, including a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (91 hp), an electric motor (80 hp) and a CVT. Front drive. The all-wheel drive version, as well as the three-door GR Yaris sport hatchback, will not be produced under the Mazda brand.
The new Mazda2 is the latest collaboration between Toyota and Mazda since 2015. The previous “two” of the DJ / DL generation was produced in 2014-2019 and was the original model on the Mazda DJ platform. At the same time, for several years in certain markets it was offered under the Toyota Yaris brand.
