Mazda Motor has begun taking orders in Japan for partially improved variants of the Mazda3 platform and the CX-30 crossover.
In the range of models, the usual Skyactiv G 2.0 petrol modification has been replaced by e-Skyactiv G 2.0 with a mild hybrid system.
Mazda3 in the specification for the Japanese domestic market has four engine versions: Skyactiv-G 1.5, e-Skyactiv G 2.0, Skyactiv-D 1.8 and e-Skyactiv X, and the Mazda CX-30 has three: e-Skyactiv G 2.0, Skyactiv-D 1.8 and e-Skyactiv X.
The e-Skyactiv G 2.0 has a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G PE-VPS petrol engine with 157 hp. complemented by the M Hybrid system, which regenerates braking energy and assists the internal combustion engine during start-up and acceleration. The advantages over the conventional petrol version are lower fuel consumption, thanks to which the car travels an average of 0.6 km more per liter of petrol. Noise and vibrations from the internal combustion engine are also reduced.
At the same time, Mazda added a new top-of-the-line Proactive Touring Selection to the range of two models. It is distinguished by the increased quality of finishing materials, and the frame has been reduced in the interior rear-view mirror and auto-dimming has been added by default. As an option, natural leather trim is available (offered colors are black, white, burgundy).
Prices for the facelifted Mazda3 range from 2,288,000 to 3,842,280 yen, while the CX-30 ranges from 2,458,500 to 3,915,980 yen. "Live" sales of the first of the models will start at the end of September, CX-30 - at the end of August.
