Mazda Motor has reported very successful sales of its first premium model, the mid-size crossover CX-60.
From the end of June 2022, when sales of the novelty began, and as of the end of July, the manufacturer accepted 11,600 prepaid orders for the CX-60 in Japan, 6,400 in the European Union, and a total of 18,000.
Recall that the CX-60 is the first model on the Skyactiv Multi Solution Scalable Architecture (SMSSA) platform with a classic layout, that is, a longitudinal engine and rear-wheel drive. The rest of the brand's off-road vehicles rely on inexpensive chassis with a transverse engine and front-wheel drive.
The length, width and height of the CX-60 are 4740, 1890 and 1670 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2870 mm.
The range of engines is:
4-cylinder Skyactiv-G 2.5 gasoline engine with a volume of 2.5 liters,
6-cylinder in-line turbodiesel Skyactiv-D 3.3 with a volume of 3.3 liters,
diesel Skyactiv-D 3.3 + mild hybrid system, e-Skyactiv D,
plug-in hybrid propulsion system, e-Skyactiv PHEV.
In the domestic Japanese market, the Mazda CX-60 is offered at a price of 2,992,000 to 6,264,500 yen, depending on the version.
