Jeep has added a new seven-seater crossover to its range

Jeep

Stellantis has unveiled the new Jeep Commander, a mid-size seven-seat crossover for the Latin American market.

In fact, this is not a completely new model, but a modified version of the Compass MP / 552 produced since 2018 - the Latin American Commander differs from it in an elongated rear part of the body and a three-row cabin layout (landing formula 2 + 3 + 2). Exact specifications have not yet been disclosed, but the length of a standard five-seat Compass is 4.42 m, probably from nose to tail on the Commander is about 4.7 m.

The car will be produced at the Brazilian plant Stellantis. The novelty is distinguished from the Compass not only by an elongated body, but also by its own front end - with it, the Commander is easier to perceive as an independent model. Here are the original hood cover, headlights, grille and bumper.

The Brazilian Commander will be offered in the following versions:

200 hp 2.0-litre petrol turbo, 9-speed automatic;
1.3-litre turbo fueled E85 (15% petrol and 85% ethanol), 6-speed automatic.
Drive forward or full.

A full presentation of the new Commander is scheduled for August 26.

Note that the very name Jeep Commander is historical. Under it, in 2005-2010, a mid-size SUV with an angular brutal design was produced. Since 2018, the Jeep Grand Commander, a plug-in hybrid crossover, has been produced exclusively for China at the local GAC-FCA.
