Toyota, Suzuki and Daihatsu team up to create a mid-engined sports car

Daihatsu

Toyota Motor, Suzuki Motor and Daihatsu Motor are working together to create a promising mid-engined sports car. This is reported by the Japanese resource Best Car, citing its own sources in the project.

There are few details so far. Obviously, it will be a light and compact car, because of the three companies Suzuki and Daihatsu specialize in small cars. It is alleged that the platform created from scratch will form the basis. Presumably, the sports car will become the ideological heir to the legendary Toyota MR2, the latest generation of which was the W30 produced in 1999-2007.

Best Car writes that the new car will go on sale in 2025.

Recall that in 2019, Toyota and Suzuki decided to deepen their partnership in terms of technological development and badge engineering. Daihatsu is 100% owned by Toyota.
