At the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, the Daihatsu brand will be represented exclusively by kei-jidoshi cars, which are cars no more than 3.4 m long, no more than 1.48 m wide, with an engine capacity of no more than 660 cc. cm and a maximum power of not more than 64 hp.
Daihatsu's central exhibit will be the e:S (eco & smart) concept car. The car is built on Daihatsu's existing kei car platform, but has a shorter wheelbase of 2,175 mm. The car was lightened as much as possible - its weight is only 700 kg, and the traditional 660 cc engine is equipped with fuel combustion control, exhaust gas recovery and a start-stop system. As a result, the fuel consumption of the car without the use of an electric motor was reduced to 30 km / liter, that is, 3.33 liters per 100 km.
Daihatsu will also show a modified Tanto model - Tanto Exe (will go on sale), concept cars Deca Deca and basket.
