Daihatsu faces shortage of parts

Daihatsu

Daihatsu Motor, part of Toyota Motor, said it would send one of its car factories in Japan to unscheduled downtime - a plant in Shiga Prefecture will not work for 7 days and 14 shifts. The return date for normal operations is July 15.

The reason for the upcoming forced pause is the lack of details. The production of Daihatsu Rocky, Tanto and Move Canbus, Subaru Chiffon and Toyota Raize models will be affected.

Toyota Motor repeatedly sent its car assembly plants in Japan to lengthy downtime during 2022 due to a disruption in the supply of electronic components by partners.
